On Christmas morning, Paige was so excited when she opened her "big gift" from us...a Barbie dollhouse. She has played with it every day since, which is a record for her!
Garrett got 5 different Lego sets, and was perfectly happy with that! He spent 4 days after Christmas putting together the different sets, never needing any help from Mom and Dad! He still hasn't used his big gift -a child-friendly woodworking set. He's waiting for lots of time when he and Daddy can make something together.
My brother and his family visited from Arizona, and we took our yearly sledding trip in the mountains. The kids had a blast and hardly noticed the cold. I even took a few runs down, but finished after this run....
Landing hard on your backside isn't nearly as easy on your body when you're not a kid anymore! I was a little stiff, but the ride was worth it!
Somehow, amid the chaos and joy of Christmas, we managed to finish the addition! Other than sealing the grout and putting the doorknob on the bathroom door, we are totally done with the master bedroom and bathroom! I am truly enjoying my "Christmas present" every day! Dave is taking a few weeks off for a much-needed rest before beginning the kitchen remodel. Here's some pictures of the final product:
