We jumped right in and began the unpacking process, and we actually got everything looking like a home pretty quickly. That is, it looks nice unless you happen to look in the garage. "Chaos" doesn't even begin to describe that scene! Otherwise, our house looks great!
The best part? NO STAIRS! I can walk from one end to the other quickly and easily. And getting the laundry done was so much easier without having to heft it up and down 2 flights of stairs! The kids love their big bedrooms and they are less afraid at bedtime since we're all on the same level.
In other news, school ended last Friday, so Garrett is officially a first-grader! Whew! How did that happen? He enjoyed his kindergarten "graduation" ceremony, and he did such a good job. Each kid had to get on the stage and tell everyone what their favorite part of kindergarten was. Garrett told about their dinosaur unit and said that they were all "junior paleontologists"! It was a mouthful, but he spit it out like a pro!
Now we're gearing up for a summer of golf lessons, swim lessons, basketball camp, and major construction on the house. It doesn't sound very restful, but it will definitely be exciting! I'll post some before/during/after pictures here as we work! For now, here's the proud "graduate"....
